Aeropay, Flyhi Team for Cashless Cannabis Delivery

Cannabis industry payment provider Aeropay has teamed with delivery service Flyhi to bring contactless, cashless cannabis delivery payments to consumers and businesses in Denver.

The collaboration includes the integration of Aeropay’s digital payment solutions into Flyhi’s on-demand home delivery service, according to a Wednesday (Aug. 17) press release.

“We’re proud to announce this partnership with Aeropay and introduce a cashless payment option for home deliveries with Flyhi,” said Flyhi Chief Operating Officer Ashley Chubin in the release. “Together, we made it simple for our customers; through this new integration, you can now choose a digital payment at checkout and avoid the inconvenience of cash-only orders.”

Customers using the Flyhi website can prepay for home delivery orders at checkout, with payments facilitated through secure bank-to-bank transfers, and with the option to pay with Aeropay at checkout, the release stated.

Business owners can’t take traditional card payments while federal law prevents cannabis sales, according to the release. In addition, most major banks have avoided the industry, forcing businesses and consumers to make payments mostly in cash.

“Our vision has always been to facilitate better payment options for consumers and businesses,” said Aeropay CEO and Founder Daniel Muller in the release. “Reliance on cash payments is a major burden for most cannabis businesses, and we’re proud to partner with Flyhi to create a cashless cannabis delivery experience that is safe, compliant and cashless.”

Cannabis payments could become much easier if Congress adopts the SAFE Banking Act. The act would protect banks that do business with cannabis companies from the penalties of federal regulators.
