Global corporate travel management company Corporate Traveler is introducing a proprietary solution ahead of the forecast increase in business travel demand, according to a press release on Wednesday (Sept. 22).
Corporate Traveler’s Melon is the only global TMC that solely caters to start-ups and mid-market businesses in the U.S. and Canada. With an intuitive design and streamlined navigation, Melon’s features were created with today’s tech-savvy and budget-conscious business travelers top of mind.

Corporate Traveler Senior Vice President Chris Lynes said the pandemic pause gave the company time to really focus on what their customers were concerned about and “adapted our offerings.”
The firm put investment dollars into a streamlined “next generation digital experience” complemented by its “trademark dedicated and personalized service” tailored to individual needs, Lynes said in the release.
“Our clients tell us that travel is crucial to their success, and in the US, we are already seeing encouraging signs of recovery with 35 percent uplift on bookings made in August alone. This indicates strong desire to return to in-person meetings in the months ahead,” added Lynes.

The company’s new omnichannel platform was developed to move seamlessly between desktop and mobile with no loss in functionality. Personalized algorithms can be established that include travel options and spend levels while the platform’s artificial intelligence (AI) takes everything into account, including company travel policies, traveler preferences and loyalty affiliations.
A dashboard analyzes real-time KPI metrics, breaks down spending, and helps manage finances while also facilitating informed decision-making. As international travel restrictions lift, duty of care is being addressed by Melon in multiple ways, including live updates and information prior to booking. The solution also offers fast alerts regarding events that could impact travel, such as COVID restrictions, entry requirements, bad weather, and more.
