RealPage Teams With Airbnb For Homesharing Service Migo

Real estate software firm RealPage is teaming up with Airbnb to launch apartment homesharing solution Migo, according to a Friday (June 4) press release.

RealPage CEO Steve Winn said the company’s “exclusive” partnership with Airbnb will make homesharing “easier for everyone” without infringing on neighbors or giving management additional work.

“The business of owning and managing apartment communities is changing rapidly as residents now expect the freedom to live, work, and travel on their own schedules and share their space when they are away,” Winn said. 

RealPage’s Migo app streamlines the process and helps people “recoup a portion of their monthly rent.”

Residents can use the app to add their listing, provide remote entry for guests, schedule room cleanings, and communicate with Migo support. The Migo app also can be used for homesharing analytics and activity insights.  

Migo offers two tiers of service, self-service and full-service. Self-service puts the control in the hands of the owner regarding the listing. For an additional fee, the full-service option tasks Migo with fully managing all aspects of the Airbnb listing. Length of stay is determined by the apartment manager and local laws. RealPage’s new AI Revenue Management solution adjusts rents based on demand.

“Airbnb has long supported and enabled building owners and their residents to benefit from home sharing and we’re thrilled that we can continue this work with RealPage — one of the largest property management software providers with more than two decades of experience —in its launch of Migo,” said Jesse Stein, global head of real estate for Airbnb.

Migo is compatible with RealPage, Entrata, Yardi and MRI, according to the press release. The firm anticipates that the app will be available across the industry before the end of this year.

Airbnb has added flexibility into its offerings due to the effects of the pandemic. Additional tools also were implemented to streamline and enhance the travel booking experience for both customers and hosts.

Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky pointed to the early days of the pandemic as “the most harrowing crisis of our lifetime,” PYMNTS reported. Airbnb Global Head of Payments Sam Shrauger told Karen Webster in the PYMNTS ConnectedEconomy™ series that people want to leave home for a bit but don’t necessarily feel a hotel is the answer.
